How to receive the GRE Scores?
Candidates taking up the GRE Exam can find their test scores in their respective ETS account between 10 and 15 days after the exam date. As soon as the test scores are available in the ETS portal, students/candidates are notified through the official GRE email-id. The following information is provided in the GRE Report:
- Name, phone number and email id of the candidate
- DOB
- Gender
- Test dates
- GRE test score and the percentile ranks
Candidates can print a paper copy of their scores from the ETS account (if required).
GRE Scores Validity
GRE scores are valid for five years following the test date. For instance, the scores obtained in July 2019 are reportable to institutions till July 2024. All the scores prior to 2019 are invalid. Want to know the GRE full marks and GRE score calculation method? Read on!
How are the GRE Scores (General) Calculated?
1. Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning Measures
For the Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning Test, a raw score is calculated based on the right responses to each question. The raw GRE Scores are then converted to a complete score through an equating process.
2. Analytical Writing Measure
In addition to this, a computer program (e-rater) developed by the ETS evaluates essays in the areas such as critical thinking, grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. When the e-rater score and the human score closely agree, the mean of both scores is considered the final score.
